Bulletin of January 1, 2006
Dear Parishioners, I hope you are enjoying a peaceful and blessed Christmas Season (December 24th-January 9th). Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were wonderful here at Christ the King. It's impossible to know the exact number who joined us for our nine masses, but we know well over 9,000 (!) hosts were distributed so the attendance was probably well over 10,000. Thank you for the marvelous music from all of yourselves plus our regular great choirs, the three "polar express" family liturgies led by Sr. Maureen, Joan Smits and Brendan Murphy, the great help from our ushers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, servers, projectionists, environment committee and of course, Fr. Aidan's "Catholic aerobics" to the tune of Twelve Days of Christmas! Thank you all so much. Also a sincere thank you from Fr. Aidan and myself, from Sr. Joanne as well as Fr. Burns, Fr. Dibble and Fr. Timoney (fresh back from Tahiti!) for all your warm greeting cards and kind and thoughtful gifts. You are all terrific! The many poinsettias you donated added greatly to our Christmas beauty and season; your loved ones are being remembered in all our prayers and masses. Don't forget our big "undecorating party" next Sunday afternoon. Taking down the tree and trimmings is usually a little less exciting than putting them up, but easier too; any time you can give to help us out (next Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm) will be greatly appreciated. Our Parish Council will hold its first meeting of 2006 next Friday evening at 6:30 pm. Agenda will include orientation for newly elected members, calendaring for the year ahead and planning for a meeting with Bishop Vigernon. Outgoing members, ongong members and newly elected members are all asked to be there. May you find truth in the year's smallest grace, And hope in the year's heaviest cross. May a pillar of light before your face Drive off the darkness so you're never lost. May your journey be safe wherever you go, And the angels protect you from hassle and fuss. May you learn to walk a little bit slow, And to grow each day in hope and trust And may the God of new beginnings, Grant you a New Year of love and peace. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Your Pastor,

The charismatic leader, Father Jean-Juste, promotes a vision of a food program for the children in his community. Consequently, in March 2000 the WHAT IF? Foundation began the Feed My Lambs meals. The foundation now serves 650 children and 150 adults nutritious meals four days a week. For many, this is the only meal for the day. Our donation will provide food for meals and money for school scholarships.
