Dear Rev. Joyce,
Thank you for sending me the tapes of Margo's funeral and wake. I was amazed but not surprised at how many people were in the church for her. She surely touched many lives.
In the short time that I knew her, I saw that she was the most Christ-like person I had ever met.
As I watched communion being served I was reminded of a time on board a cruise ship in Grecian waters, on a Sunday morning, that she arranged for a devotional service for our group. She had one of the ministers bless the elements. The minister in turn had her and another serve the communion. She had ordered the elements from the crew. The crew didn't understand English real well. It seemed strange taking communion with grapefruit juice. It was really bitter, but then so was the cross. It actually turned out to be a very good symbolic ritual.
Seeing some of the pictures in the collage, it looked like some of the pictures might have been from the Greece tour that she took with her congregation. When I met her in Greece before that, she was looking some of the places over so she could show her congregation when they went. It was really funny watching her shop in the little stores. She would look at an item, tell the clerk hat she would take the item, go to the register and then tell the clerk that the item was very nice, but she just couldn't buy it. I saw her do that several times. I told her she would get thrown out of Greece if she kept that up. It really was amusing to watch.
In Jesus Christ,
Mike Waldron
