"Blest are the sorrowing, they shall be consoled." CTK's Bereavement Ministry is one of our most rewarding volunteer opportunities. In this ministry, parishioners trained in bereavement counseling contact families who have lost a loved one in death. Shortly after a death occurs, a condolence letter is sent to the family. This letter is followed up by a call from a member of our bereavement team who provides a listening ear and a closer link to our parish community.
We also have periodic Communion services during the year and a Parish Bereavement Mass during the month of November.
The Bereavement Ministry team invites you to share this important service. This is not a time-consuming ministry. Generally, it involves only one or two phone calls per month (made at your convenience) and one meeting on the second Wednesday of each month from 9-10 am. If you are interested in participating in this ministry or would like to be ministered to because of the death of a loved one:

The Legion also sponsors First Friday expositions at CTK and a monthly Catholic information table at the Solano Swap Meet. All are welcome to join us or to be a part of our Auxiliary membership which offers prayer and rosary support from their own homes.

From 1995-1997 our parish paricipated in
RENEW, a six week process based on small group gatherings to reflect on the
Sunday scripture and our personal lives. While the RENEW seasons are now over,
each Lent we offer a similar six week series called Lenten Renewal. Lenten
Renewal is advertised well in advance and is an excellent way to strengthen
our adult faith and build community with other parishioners. It also
provides an annual introduction to small church community.
Please see the Small Church Community Site for more information.
This is an organization with the vision of providing grief support to those individuals who have lost someone close to them to the crime of murder. They have all had the experience of losing a loved one in the most violent manner, have suffered that dreadful pain through which we must heal and have begun to establish a "new normal," acceptable life. The meetings are held at Pleasant Hill City Hall in the small community meeting room (100 Gregory Lane) on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.
