The Rosary *
Oh, Blessed Beads, I would not part with one of you for all the gems
that gleam in kingly diadems. You know the history of my heart.
For I have told you all my griefs in all the days of many years
and I have moistened you with tears and in your decades found relief.
Time has fled, friends have failed and joys have died, but in my needs, you
were my friends. Oh Blessed Beads, and you have heard me when I wailed.
For many and a time in grief my weary fingers wandered round your circled chain
and always found in some Hail Mary sweet relief.

      *One of Monsignor's favorite prayers.

May our Lord Jesus Christ be with you to defend you,
Within you to sustain you, before you to lead you,
Behind you to guard you, and above you to bless you,
And may the blessing of Almighty God,
Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit be with you always.
Amen.
