ADULT EDUCATION
The purpose of Adult Education is to offer continuing formation and education that stimulates and challenges personal growth in the Catholic faith and in the framework of the Catholic Christian tradition. Adult Education activities are offered throughout the year and are publicized in the Parish Bulletin. Audiotapes are available of Sunday homilies and all other adult education events. A committee of parishioners meets periodically to explore plans and proposals for new activities. Forms of Adult Education include lectures, Bible Study, as well as Small Church Communities, Young Adults Faith Sharing, the R.C.I.A., a program for returning Catholics offered in January and "Confirmation for Those Over 21" offered at the beginning of each year. Volunteers are always needed to help as group facilitators or with refreshments, set up, clean-up, taping, book and tape/CD sales.

ANNULMENTS
Sadly, divorce is a common and sometimes very necessary feature in society and Church today. An annulment is needed for Catholics who have been previously married, and also for non-Catholics who have been previously married (even in a civil ceremony) before any subsequent marriage can be celebrated or blessed in the Catholic Church. An annulment is not a claim that the first marriage never existed, but that it did not become that "sacrament", "permanent community of love" or "two in one flesh" which Christ and the Bible hope for and to which newlyweds pledge themselves. The annulment procedure takes between 10-12 months, costs approximately $500 (if the petitioner can afford it), and is begun by contacting one of the parish priests.

FESTIVAL
The annual Festival is a major fundraiser for Christ the King parish youth. We look for and need the participation of the entire parish with all levels of talent or skill considered helpful. Early planning is essential and year-round preparations allow for anyone to volunteer on almost any basis: advertising, cooking, construction, accounting, sewing/crafts, organizing, painting, conducting games, etc. The Festival is a great way for our parishioners to meet and get to know each other better. Meetings or activities regarding the Festival are announced in the Parish Bulletin.
