The Caring Hands Volunteer Caregivers Program offers the opportunity to serve frail seniors and disabled persons in the parish community and/or in the broader community by providing free, non-medical, in-home assistance with the activities of daily living. Caring Hands offers an excellent initial training program and ongoing resources that assist the volunteer caregivers in providing services such as friendly calling/visiting, transportation, errands and shopping, light household chores and meal preparation, letter writing, and respite care. To learn more about the Caring Hands Ministry to volunteer, or if you or someone you know is in need of volunteer caregiver assistance, please call.

On "good weather" Sundays, parishioners serve coffee and donuts in the patio area following the 8:00, 9:15 and 10:45 Masses (except during July and August, our "summer break"). Volunteers serve on teams. All parishioners of every age are always welcome and needed to help with "hospitality" on our Coffee and Donuts Committee.

The hospitality committee’s purpose is to promote a welcoming, friendly atmosphere within our parish. This committee coordinates refreshments, helpers and decorations at various parish celebrations such as the Easter Vigil reception for new Catholics, the annual Mass to welcome parish newcomers and an ecumenical advent concert. Volunteers are always welcome and needed in any capacity, whether it is a once-a-year offer to serve food or an occasional offer to help organize an event. Meetings are announced in the bulletin. We would be happy to share a little hospitality with you!

A priority in our parish life is the development, resourcing and support of small communities (usually 10-12 persons) for faith-sharing, life discussion, shared prayer and mutual support. These small groups take a variety of shapes and formats. Some meet weekly, some monthly, some sporadically during the year. Our parish offers (1) Small Church Community weekends to develop the experience and skills for small groups; (2) a resource directory with videos, tapes, articles and discussion guides; (3) an annual six week Lenten Renewal which invites all parishioners into a small faith-sharing experience. If interested in starting up a group or joining an existing one, contact us.
