To Hear the Gospel and Make a Difference
Hospitality Ministries
Welcome Ministry
The Welcome Ministry is central in helping Christ the King Church stay a vibrant community. We are her face and heart; welcoming new members, visitors, and parishioners who want to feel more involved. Connecting them with ministries and services that meet their interests and spiritual needs helps to build Christ’s living body, the Church. We host Welcome Events, follow up with newly registered parishioners and answer any questions.

Hospitality Ministry
Whether it’s a small private affairs or a parish wide event the Hospitality Ministry helps Christ the King celebrate our community. Everything from First Communions and Confirmations receptions to Easter Vigil and Thanksgiving, our team handles it all. Volunteers with a warm smile and welcoming heart are always needed! We meet as needed for upcoming planning purposes, and are always available to answer questions.

Liturgical Ministries
Altar Servers
Children and teens 4th grade and older are invited to be Altar Servers. You’ll learn different parts of the Mass, why the celebrant does or says this or that, and be a part of the best parish celebrations. Training begins in October and as needed for special Masses. Adult volunteers must be good with kids, have knowledge of the Order of Mass and consent to a background check.

Altar Society
Have you ever wondered who cares for altar and sanctuary? The Altar Society cleans, dusts, and polishes the altar as well as maintains the altar linens, purificators, corporals, towels and albs used for Mass. Our work compliments that of the Liturgical Environment Ministry to create an atmosphere of reverence and beauty appropriate for spiritual celebration. Look out for Quilt Raffles that help support our ministry.

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest administering the
sacrament of Holy Communion, the consecrated bread
and wine at weekend Masses, Saturday evening & all
Sunday morning Masses. 3 Masses distribute both
bread & wine, 3 distribute just bread by 53 Ministers
every weekend. An initial training of 60-90 minutes is
required.

Funeral Ushers
Saying goodbye to a loved one is one of the most difficult events a family will endure. Christ the King funeral ushers are there with compassionate hearts to assist during funerals with seating, distributing programs, and general set up. Contact Sr. Dominic if you would like to be a funeral usher.

Lectors
Christ the King takes the Ministry of the Word very seriously. Lectors should have a passion for scripture and a strong desire to proclaim God’s word, making it come alive in the hearts of our parishioners. Adults and especially teens are encouraged to experience Christ though our ministry. We strive for well-trained lectors, so a Saturday practice at 8:30 a.m. the weekend of their assignment is required.

Liturgical Environment
The Environment Ministry creates an atmosphere of reverence and beauty during the annual liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time (after the Epiphany), Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time (after Pentecost). The change of vestment colors and church decor enhance worship and bring to our five senses the majesty of heaven. Easter and Christmas are our most involved times and volunteers are in much need.

Mass Projectionists
Members of the parish serve as projectionists at all
Masses, tracking and advancing prayers, music and
other text during the service. After training, the
volunteers for this ministry will serve about 2 times in
3 months at the Mass they usually attend.

Ushers & Greeters
Ushers and greeters are the first line of welcome at Christ the King; offering hospitality and assistance to those arriving for worship. Before Mass they assist those with physical challenges, the elderly, and large families to available pews. During our celebration they gather parishioner offerings and provide guidance and direction during communion.
