60 Years of St. Stephen, founded 1966
75 Years of Christ the King, founded 1951
Join Our Year of Celebration!
In 1951 Truman was in the White House, the Giants were 7 years from moving to San Francisco, and in a little town called Pleasant Hill the parish of Christ the King was founded.
Fifteen years later, the Beatles borrow Candlestick Park from the Giants for a last concert, Market Street in San Francisco is torn up as construction on BART begins, and three local parishes cooperate to create St. Stephen’s Parish.
In 2026 we are celebrating these two milestone anniversaries together – 60 years for St. Stephen and 75 for Christ the King!
Join us for a year long series of special events to honor our history and renew our
commitment to hear the gospel and make a difference, and to live and love in Christ.

December 2025
Feast of St. Stephen — Anniversary Year Kick-Off Mass (Dec. 26)
We began our CTK–SS Anniversary Year with a beautiful Mass celebrating the Feast of St. Stephen, featuring the Tongan choir and followed by a potluck in the St. Stephen parish hall.
January 2026
Anniversary Year Logo & Banners Launched
Featured in the bulletin, Staying Connected newsletter, slides at Mass, and displayed at both campuses.
“Did You Know?” Historical Series
A year-long sharing of fun historical facts from Christ the King and St. Stephen in the bulletin and Staying Connected newsletter.
February 2026
Bingo Night — February 7
We reached full capacity with 150 parishioners enjoying pizza, cookies, wine, expert bingo calling by Deacon Nelson and Deacon Wynn, and prizes galore. Thank you to all who celebrated together!
School Gala — February 28
The parish is donating an anniversary-themed cake and gift basket to the school auction to raise funds and awareness for this special anniversary year.
March – April 2026
Season of Service Awareness Campaign (Feb 21 – Mar 22)

Sarah Hart + Francesca LaRosa Concert — May 2
Join us for a special concert featuring beloved composers Sarah Hart and Francesca LaRosa. Our music ministry leader, Jennifer Bennett, is collaborating with them to make this a meaningful evening. Following the 4:00 p.m. Mass at CTK Church.
July 2026
Pleasant Hill July 4 Parade — CTK–SS Contingent
Celebrate the Stars and Stripes with us as CTK–SS participates in the Pleasant Hill July 4 Parade! More details to come.
August 2026
Movie Night & Sing-Along — August 29
Warm up your voices! A special sing-along movie night with pizza, popcorn, and fun for the whole community. (Film title to be announced.)
September 2026
Profession & Ordination Anniversaries — September 26
